Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill provides a comprehensive vocational program focused on healthcare certifications. This program equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the fast-paced healthcare industry. It covers various disciplines such as medical assisting, pharmacy technology, and phlebotomy, offering rigorous training in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Students also have the opportunity to gain real-world experience through internships and clinical rotations, enhancing their understanding and readiness for the workforce. The program is taught by experienced faculty who provide individualized attention and guidance. In this program, upon completion, the student will work at an entry level in a beauty salon as a stylist or manicurist or they will be able to start their own business either with a beauty salon or work at home.

Cal State East Bay’s Construction Management Certificate Program provides you with an up-to-date understanding of construction management fundamentals and equips you with the leadership skills you’ll need to advance to a management position or create your own construction business. Upon completion of the program, you’ll be prepared for the day-to-day challenges you will face in the field, from managing subcontractors and cash flow to controlling costs and minimizing risk. 

This program prepares students for jobs installing, repairing, maintaining and servicing electrical and electronics equipment. Electrical/electronics jobs are found in the fields of electrical, medical, industrial, commercial systems, programmable logic controller systems, automotive, communications and others. The following courses are part of the Electricians Trainee Program and approved by the Division of Apprenticeship Standards: ELECT-120, 121, 130, 220, 230, 266, 267, 271, ELTRN-210 and CNT-103. To earn a certificate of achievement, students must complete each course used to meet a certificate requirement with a “C” grade or higher and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher in the coursework required for the certificate.
