Dental assistants perform many tasks, ranging from patient care and taking X-rays to recordkeeping and scheduling appointments. Their duties vary by state and by the dentists’ offices where they work.
Graduates are radiology certified in Pennsylvania and are employed in general or specialty dental practices, hospitals and educational settings.
The program includes clinical experience in all phases of dentistry while rotating through departments at University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and private dental offices.
