The SUNY Ulster nursing program leads to the Associate in Science (A.S.) degree. The Nursing curriculum is designed to prepare students for entry into practice as well as provide opportunities for students seeking transfer into a baccalaureate of science degree through articulation/joint admission agreements. Upon award of the degree, graduates are qualified to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Professional Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

SUNY Ulster Nursing program is a member of the National League for Nursing (NLN) and the Council of Associate Degree Nursing in New York (CADN).
The program can be completed in two academic years or extended and pursued on a part-time basis. Nursing courses, however, must be taken consecutively, and it is recommended that they be taken without interruption.
