Troops Into Transportation - Fort Riley
Troops Into Transportation (T2T) at Fort Riley, located in North Central Kansas, is a distinguished program designed to empower veterans transitioning to civilian life by providing them with the skills to become professional truck drivers. Established in 2012, T2T is a national SkillBridge initiative that offers comprehensive and hands-on training, allowing veterans to acquire their Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDLs). The program is G.I. Bill® approved, enabling veterans to leverage benefits like Post 9/11® (Ch.33) and VR&E (Ch.31) for funding their education.
Located on the expansive Fort Riley military base, the program benefits from a supportive educational environment featuring various resources such as early childhood development centers, primary and secondary schools, and satellite campuses of colleges and universities. This infrastructure enriches the learning experience for T2T participants, providing them with robust career transition support. Additionally, the vibrant military community at Fort Riley fosters a diverse and dynamic student body within the T2T program. The program not only equips veterans with the necessary skills for high-paying trucking jobs but also offers pathways for graduates to become owner-operators or transition into roles in logistics and human resources.
