The Practical Nursing program is a three-semester program of study that prepares students to provide patient care under the supervision of professional registered nurses, physicians or dentists. A graduate of the Practical Nursing program is eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination-PN (NCLEX-PN). Upon satisfactory completion of the examination, graduates are titled Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN).
The PN program combines general education with clinical nursing courses and incorporates classroom instruction, laboratory simulation and clinical practice. Students who complete the Practical Nursing program may qualify to apply for progression and continue the Nursing curriculum to complete the Associate Degree Nursing program.
