The Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) certification program at Steel Center for Career and Technical Education is designed to provide students with the theoretical and practical knowledge required to perform electrocardiograms properly. In this program, students learn about the anatomy and physiology of the heart, cardiac arrhythmias, and ECG interpretation techniques. Upon completion of the program, students are well-equipped to take the national certification exam and work as ECG technicians.

Steel Center provides Career and Technical Education to high school students from 11 school districts in Allegheny County. Their goal is to develop knowledge, skills and aptitude necessary to be successful in their choice careers. Their mission is to provide challenging, meaningful and relevant career and technical education training for students that supports the growth of individuals, families, and the workforce within communities.
