The Cosmetology certification program at Steel Center for Career and Technical Education provides students with in-depth training on hair, skin, and nail care. In this program, students gain practical experience working with clients in a salon setting. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared to take the State Board examination to become licensed cosmetologists.

Steel Center provides Career and Technical Education to high school students from 11 school districts in Allegheny County. Their goal is to develop knowledge, skills and aptitude necessary to be successful in their choice careers. Their mission is to provide challenging, meaningful and relevant career and technical education training for students that supports the growth of individuals, families, and the workforce within communities.
