Steel Center for Career and Technical Education offers a Pharmacy Technician certification program that prepares students for entry-level careers in the pharmaceutical industry. The program emphasizes hands-on training in pharmacology, drug dispensing, and record-keeping, as well as professional communication and customer service. Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) and can pursue careers in a variety of settings, including hospitals, retail pharmacies, and long-term care facilities.

Steel Center provides Career and Technical Education to high school students from 11 school districts in Allegheny County. Their goal is to develop knowledge, skills and aptitude necessary to be successful in their choice careers. Their mission is to provide challenging, meaningful and relevant career and technical education training for students that supports the growth of individuals, families, and the workforce within communities.
