Program Overview:

South University's Bachelor of Science in Public Health program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to become public health professionals and advocates for population health. The curriculum encompasses a broad general education, a strong foundation in human health and disease sciences, and core areas of public health, preparing students to address health needs at local, national, and international levels.

Program Outcomes:

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program, graduates will be able to:

  1. Explain Public Health Philosophy: Understand and articulate the philosophy and essential services of public health at local, state, national, and global levels.
  2. Apply Public Health Information: Demonstrate the ability to apply, evaluate, and synthesize public health information, including evidence-based practice and approaches.
  3. Compare Healthcare Systems: Compare governmental and non-governmental healthcare systems and public health initiatives in the United States and globally.
  4. Address Health Disparities: Understand health disparities and determinants of health in healthcare settings and communities and formulate approaches to address them.
  5. Plan and Evaluate Programs: Formulate approaches to planning, assessing, implementing, and evaluating public health programs effectively.

South University's Bachelor of Science in Public Health program prepares graduates to make meaningful contributions to public health practice and advocacy, addressing the health needs of diverse populations and promoting health equity. Graduates are well-equipped to pursue careers in various public health settings and continue their professional development through further education and training.
