Upon successfully completing this program, students will be fully eligible to sit for the NREMT certification examinations required to become both a Florida State and a Nationally Registered Paramedic. Medical calls often involve conditions like heart attacks, severe allergic reactions, childbirth, and shock-related complications. Paramedics are trained to administer a wide range of medications to stabilize patients en route to the hospital. Trauma calls, on the other hand, usually stem from accidents or physical injuries, such as car crashes, falls, altercations, and sports injuries. Given the rise in mass casualty incidents, paramedics are increasingly collaborating with police and other emergency agencies to effectively triage and treat multiple critically injured patients in hazardous environments.
