Training includes learning how to assist physicians with patient examinations, treatments, medications, monitoring basic laboratory testing, phlebotomy, electrocardiograph, administration of medications, emergency procedures, receptionist duties, insurance verification/ finance procedures, office management software and employability skills. An unpaid practicum experience at a physician’s office or health care clinic is required to complete the program. This program is offered in a traditional classroom instruction setting.
