Take the first steps toward an in-demand trade career with the Electrical Applications diploma program at OBC. Electricity powers so much of our daily lives — from our lights to our laptops, our cell phones to our appliances. We depend on it everywhere we go, whether it’s at home, at the office, at the grocery store or the hospital, or even when we’re waiting at a stoplight. And when the lines go dark, whether from bad weather or bad timing or just everyday malfunctions, everyone calls on person to get things back online: an electrician. We now offer the Electrical Applications program at our Columbus campus location. This program is currently pending approval by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education. The Electrical Applications diploma program at Ohio Business College is geared toward the hands-on training that you need to step right into the workforce as a junior electrician. Students learn theory in the classroom and then apply those skills in a lab setting, including installing and maintaining electrical wiring, transformers, a/c and d/c motor control circuits, instrumentation and programmable logic controller, and more. Getting trained in a vital new trade career shouldn’t require putting everything on hold, which is why our Lorain campus offers the Electrical Applications training program full-time, day or evening, to accommodate students’ busy schedules.
