This is a 6-week instructional hybrid learning course that includes 3 days of hands-on skills and practices with EKG equipment that will prepare participants to become EKG Technicians. EKG Technicians perform diagnostic tests which involve recording electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. These tests help doctors to detect and diagnose heart problems. The EKG course includes an overview of the anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, electrocardiography, and stress testing. Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will be eligible to sit for National Certification Exam through the National Health careers Association (NHA) and become a Nationally Certified EKG Technician.
The Phlebotomy Technician Program is a 7-week self-paced hybrid course designed to effectively train and educate students in all aspects of basic phlebotomy skills including the collection of blood specimens and venipuncture. The Phlebotomy Technician program includes online theory and in-person hands-on training. This program is designed for participants who want to advance their careers or are interested in starting a career in the allied health professionals to become a Phlebotomy Technician. After successful completion of the 7-week hybrid program students are eligible to test for their national certification exam.
Our phlebotomy program consists of 7 weeks online followed by a mandatory 3-day of in-person hands-on skills training. The course consists of power points, study guides, and exams.
Equipment to be used during class is all necessary supplies required to draw blood, including isolation apparel, needles, syringes, tubes, alcohol prep pads, gauze, as well as artificial arms with veins, and other training devices to provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform effectively.

This is a comprehensive, self-paced introductory course designed to give an overview of the various components of the Medical Assistants' professional responsibilities. This course is intended for individuals who are preparing for many exciting, challenging, and rewarding careers in allied health. These opportunities require people who want to operate in a high-tech fluid environment filled with constant challenges and service commitments. Participants will learn to administer injections, take vital signs, and other clinical duties and responsibilities in the healthcare setting. Individuals will also learn about and use some of the technology in the healthcare field as they undertake and engage in hands-on skills demonstrations in the skills lab.
Our Patient Care Technician program is a 14-week course. It consists of 3 classes which include Phlebotomy Technician (online), EKG Technician (online), and Nursing Assistant class (3-week of in-person learning). The Patient Care Technician duties include assisting patients to move around safely, keeping patients/ residents living areas neat and clean, encouraging patients/residents to eat and drink, caring for supplies and equipment, helping patients dress, making their beds, helping patients with mouth care, updating other team members on resident’s status, and documenting or charting. The EKG Technician tasks will consist of performing diagnostic tests to assess the patient’s heart. They ensure proper electrode placement on the patient, record the ECG, prepare the report for the physician, ensure patient comfort and safety, and troubleshoot abnormalities with the recording. While the Phlebotomy portion will have the PCT responsible for obtaining patient specimens. They can perform various functions such as venipuncture, micro-collection, and specimen processing and handling while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.

The nursing assistant course consists of 3-weeks of in-person learning, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) serve as vital members of the health care team. They carry out assigned duties under the direction of the a nurse. Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, toileting, assisting with feeding, taking vital signs, ambulating, lifting and moving clients, and performing other selected nursing procedures. The instructional program for the Nursing Assistant course consists of in-person classroom lectures with skills practice and supervised clinical experience in local healthcare facilities. This program is approved by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals and the Louisiana Board of Regents. After successful completion of the course, the individual is awarded a certificate of completion and will be eligible to sit for the state exam given by Prometric to obtain licensure.
The Certified Nursing Assistant certification class offered by Next Level Educational Services (NLES) in New Orleans, LA prepares students for a successful career as a nursing assistant.
