The NYS Security Guard Act of 1992 requires registration and training of security guards in New York State. The Division of Criminal Justice Services, Office of Public Safety provides administrative oversight for mandated security training and requires that all private security training must be approved and that all private security instructors must be certified. The New York Private Police Academy® is a Certified Security Guard Training School that offers the following NYS mandated training courses for security guards conducted at our approved training school by certified instructors.
