The program equips students with knowledge of the criminal justice system and prepares them for various roles or advanced education. Graduates will:

• Understand the major components of the criminal justice process, including police, courts, and corrections
• Explore alternatives to incarceration such as probation, parole, and treatment programs
• Support clients within the correctional system, focusing on treatment, classification, and community-based programs
• Study the juvenile justice system and its role within the broader criminal justice context
• Learn about police-community partnerships and crime prevention strategies

Students also have the option to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice or train at the Lackawanna College Police Academy to become a police officer.
