Program Details:

• Cost: $1,185.00
• Duration: Approximately 9 to 10 weeks
• Schedule: Hybrid (combining online theory and in-person clinical/practical sessions). Classes typically meet twice a week for several hours each session (e.g., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.). Flexible clinical day shifts are available.
• Prerequisites: Must be over 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and complete at least 30 venipuncture sticks as part of the clinical requirements.
• Accreditations: Prepares students for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification exam.
• Career Outcomes: Prepares students for employment in real-world healthcare roles as Certified Phlebotomy Technicians.

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (HCP) Course is an instructor-led course that teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support. This course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. BLS for Healthcare Providers teaches skills using the American Heart Association’s proven Practice-While-Watching technique, which allows instructors to observe students, provide feedback and guide students’ acquisition of skills.

Enter into the world of healthcare today by performing functions related to the physician's clinical responsibilities in the outpatient/private medical office.  Learn and perform methods of preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, specimen collection including blood collection (phlebotomy), running live electrocardiographs (EKGs) and recognizing heart rhythms.  Gain hands on experience with critical procedures and concepts in phlebotomy, EKG, pharmacology, professional workplace behavior, ethics and the legal aspects of healthcare. You will also complete an introduction to medical terminology, healthcare etiquette and healthcare customer service to stand apart from others in a competitive job market.

This course provides the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform basic care services for a patient (acute care setting) or resident (long-term care setting) or an individual in a home health setting. It prepares the student to function in the role of nursing assistant under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN).  The course includes 84 hours of lecture and skills training with the option to attend 40 hours of clinical experience in a hospital or nursing home ($200 separate fee).  Completers of the CNA program will be able to challenge the CNA licensing exam in the state of Florida and immediately work as a Patient Care Attendant and/or Home Health Aide in any Medicare approved center.
