Home Health Aide Course - HHA 100

The Home Health Aide course is an 80-hour program, featuring 45 hours of classroom instruction and 35 hours of clinical skills lab. This program equips graduates to work in a variety of care settings such as visiting nurse associations, hospices, assisted living facilities, and home health care agencies.

Course Content

• A comprehensive coverage of topics including home health care, long-term care, patients' rights, elder abuse, communication, aging, end-of-life care, infection control, nutrition, personal care, rehabilitation, common diseases, and emergency procedures.

Entry Requirements

• Proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in English.

• Successful completion of the pre-entrance exam of reading comprehension with a minimum score of 90%.

• Presentation of a picture ID on the day of the pre-entrance exam.

• Evidence of required immunizations including COVID19 vaccine, flu shot (during flu season), negative TB test, and proof of MMR immunization.

• A current physical performed within 1 year.

• Proof of social security number, required for processing a Criminal Offender Record Information request and for sitting the Massachusetts Nurse Assistant Certification Exam.
