Start with basic DC circuitry and advance at your own pace to study AC, analog, digital, solid state, and microprocessors. You will learn the skills that today’s employers expect beyond the comprehensive technical skills including: employability skills, problem-solving strategies, critical thinking, and teamwork to name a few. This program prepares students for Electronics Technician Association certifications. Course content in the Electronic Technology program includes the following: direct current (DC) circuits, alternating current (AC) circuits and analog circuits; solid state and digital devices, microprocessors, use of circuit diagrams and schematics, soldering and chassis assembly techniques; laboratory practices, and technical recording and reporting. The course content also includes training in communication, leadership, human relations, employability skills, and safe, efficient work practices. This program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the electronic industry: planning, management, finance, technical and product skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, and community, health, safety, and environmental issues.
