Cranston Adult Education Programs’ Phlebotomy Technician program in Cranston, Rhode Island, prepares students for work as phlebotomists and allied health team members. Training covers medical terminology, blood and cell composition, blood sampling procedures, laboratory operations, aseptic techniques, and infection control. Students also develop communication skills, practice appropriate procedures, and complete clinical rotation requirements that include 100 successful venipunctures. The program is delivered through evening classes on Mondays and Wednesdays and runs for approximately sixteen weeks. Class attendance and participation are mandatory, and students must complete the required clinical venipunctures, chapter work, skills reviews, and examinations. Scrubs are required before the third class.
