About

Students in the EMT Certificate program must first complete the EMT course and then pass the State/National EMT Certification written and practical exams. By State law, a student must be certified as an Ohio EMT before enrolling in the Paramedic Certificate program. In addition to the above, to be eligible for admission into the Paramedic Certificate program, students must also complete a prerequisite course EMS 1002 (Paramedic Preparation Course) and a pretesting process, which includes the Health Education Systems, Inc. (HESI) Admission Assessment Exam. For more information, see cscc.edu/ems.
