Overview

Columbia Southern University's bachelor’s in military studies with a concentration in intelligence provides students with the necessary knowledge and analytical skills they need to succeed in intelligence operations roles. The program includes a wide range of topics such as structure and procedures of the U.S. intelligence community, historical analysis of intelligence operations and foundational concepts of how to approach analysis necessary for entry-level roles in the field. Graduates with this military intelligence degree should be able to examine the elements that shape the intelligence community today, as well as understand the impact of past operations on present events, enabling them to make well informed decisions when assessing potential threats for the future.

Multiple factors, including prior experience, geography and degree field, affect career outcomes. CSU does not guarantee a job, promotion, salary increase, eligibility for a position, or other career growth.

Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Military Studies equips students with a knowledge of military logistics, tactics, communications, and outcomes so that students may not only analyze current military operations, but also prepare for the future of the military. Students may utilize the topics covered in this program, such as leadership, relationships, decision-making, and problem-solving to pursue careers within the military as well as military-related civilian positions in various fields including business, public safety, and education.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program, students should be able to do the following:

  • Examine how the different attributes of military leaders impact military outcomes
  • Develop counterterrorism strategies
  • Relate communication, logistics, critical thinking, fitness, and problem-solving strategies to the optimization of mental and physical military performance
  • Explore the effect of historical and contemporary armed conflict on the relationship between military organizations and civil society (civil-military relations)

Intelligence Concentration
