The Nurse Aide 1 Program hours has changed to 120 hours: 36 lecture; 52 lab; 32 clinical hours. This program is a NC State approved training course which provides the core knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality health care to residents in nursing homes, hospitals, home care, rehabilitation, and assisted-living facilities. Students will be taught the proper way to care for residents/patients with empathy. This includes principles of basic personal care (hygiene, grooming, bathing), dressing, feeding, transferring, and assisting with mobility. Other skills include taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure), monitoring and documenting appropriately to the Registered Nurse.

The Medication Aide training program covers the basic preparation for administration of medications by unlicensed persons in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility and other health related facilities. Program is designed to prepare students to meet the requirements of the NC Medication Aide Act. This is a 24-hour class. Students who complete this program will be eligible to take the North Carolina Board of Nursing Medication Aide Competency Exam. After successfully completing the exam, student will be listed on the Medication Aide Registry.

NA 101 – Nurse Aide 1 Training Program

Blooming Heart School of Health offers an NC State-approved Nurse Aide 1 Program. Spanning over a duration of 112 hours, this comprehensive program is meticulously designed to equip students with the core knowledge and essential skills to offer quality healthcare in diverse settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, home care, rehabilitation, and assisted-living facilities.
