Medical billing and coding professionals play an important role in the healthcare industry today. As the healthcare system strives to provide more efficient and effective care, the use of electronic medical records (EMRs) is an integral part of that effort. Students will learn, through computerized billing simulations, how to create, save, retrieve, edit, and maintain patient files. In addition, they will learn how to post payments to patient accounts, produce insurance claim forms, correct and resubmit rejected claims, produce insurance claim activity reports, and enter electronic claims.
