The Nursing Program consists of general education and nursing courses designed to prepare an entry-level registered nurse, who can function effectively in the rapidly changing healthcare environment. Simulated and actual patient centered learning experiences provide for application of concepts. Each semester of education builds upon previous learning. The graduate of the Associate Degree Nursing program at American River College demonstrates entry-level competencies and meets the educational requirements necessary to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become licensed as a Registered Nurse and eligible for employment.
