Sterile processing technicians play a crucial role in the decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and equipment. This comprehensive program covers essential topics such as instrumentation, processing of surgical instrumentation and moveable patient equipment, storage and inventory management, medical terminology, and infection prevention processes.

Learners who complete this program are eligible for an optional volunteer externship opportunity with local companies, agencies, or organizations aligned with sterile processing. This externship provides valuable hands-on experience, and an Externship Coordinator will assist learners in coordinating placement.
