Course Objective

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed as a CNA.

What You Will Learn

  • Lecture Class: Gain understanding of the CNA role, safety and infection control, and how body systems relate to patient care. Learn to identify common issues faced by residents and assist them effectively.
  • Skill Lab: This is a hands-on opportunity to practice and master the skills a CNA is expected to know. Students will be guided through these skills before testing.
  • Clinical Component: A real-world application of your learned skills, where you will interact one-on-one with actual patients.

Upon completion, students will be prepared to sit for the Arizona Board of Nursing CNA Exam, and may also apply for the LNA.

Admission Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years of age
  • Pass an entrance exam
  • The program duration is approximately 120 clock hours (6-8 weeks)
  • Advanced placement may be available for qualified candidates: 32 hours+
