The Certificate of Completion in Medical Transcription combines the disciplines of medicine and computer applications within the health care industry. Medical Transcriptionists are specialists in medical language and healthcare documentation that interpret and transcribe dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals, editing dictated material for grammar and clarity as necessary and appropriate. Students need excellent English language skills, good hearing acuity, ability to listen, good keyboard skills, and the ability to work seated for long periods of time. The Medical Transcription Certificate of Completion program is a flexible, distance learning, internet-based program. Successful completion of this program allows graduates to take the Registered Medical Transcriptionist (R.M.T.) Examination administered by the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity.
