As the digital product industry grows, user experience (UX) designers are in demand across a variety of industries, including technology, finance, advertising, and start-ups. UX designers help build products like websites, apps, and physical objects. Their goal is to make people’s interactions with those products useful, enjoyable, and accessible. This course will prepare you for a career in the field by teaching you entry-level skills, including: understanding what makes existing products difficult to use, exploring what can make people’s experiences great, and designing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to bring those ideas to life. With these skills, you will be prepared to continue your journey as a generalist or a specialist in a variety of UX design-related roles, including: visual designer, interaction designer, UI designer, UX researcher, product designer, and more.

The Undergraduate Certificate in Cannabis Studies is taught by world-renowned faculty and experts in areas including medicinal plants, natural product development, and formulation research in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry.

Students will access state-of-the-art equipment for cannabis chemistry analysis and testing of cannabis related products through virtual laboratory experiences. Students will also be provided with a unique online learning advantage, applying knowledge from URI’s College of Pharmacy to the rapidly growing cannabis industry.

The Business Administration Certificate of Achievement is for students on a pathway towards earning the Business Administration AS-T or for students interested in earning transfer business course credits to support a non-business degree with a Business Minor. The courses in this program are part of the common core of lower division courses required to transfer and pursue a baccalaureate degree with a major or minor in Business Administration and aligns with CSU Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

UX (user experience**)** encompasses nearly every interaction we have with a business and its online presence. As anyone who’s ever been frustrated by a website or app knows, these experiences can make or break a business. UX designers make products and tools that are easier, intuitive, and more enjoyable for users. National University’s Google UX Design Professional Certificate program explores the foundational concepts of UX design, including user-centered design, the design process, and accessibility. Students will also identify job responsibilities of entry-level UX designers and the teams they work with to begin developing a professional identity online.

Certificate coursework will use interactive content (discussion prompts, quizzes, and activities) to teach job-ready skills and processes, including empathy for users, defining pain points, generating solution ideas, creating wireframes and prototypes, and testing designs to gather feedback. The curriculum is designed with input from industry leaders like Figma, Adobe XD, Deloitte, Cognizant, and Accenture, and students will create a portfolio of three projects to share with potential employers to showcase the skills they’ve acquired throughout the program.

The Criminal Justice program at PPSC can prepare you for many law enforcement-related careers, such as a police officer, corrections officer, probation officer, and crime-scene investigator. It can also serve as a pathway to higher degrees, which can lead to a career as a lawyer.

Allen's Foundations in Early Childhood Education Certificate prepares students for successful careers working with young children by providing foundational learning in education and development. The certificate courses are all available in English and Spanish. 

The Spanish mode is taught by a bilingual teacher with all instruction, readings, and assignments completed in Spanish! After you finish the certificate, you can transition into Allen’s ESL and associate degree coursework!
